Perception

Perception

This book is devised to help pupils compare and match, look closely at the page, introduces simple problem solving. Illustrations vary in level of difficulty but are age appropriate and varied.

Pre Number

Sequencing, match, creating groups, sorting, tracking, one to one mapping and many other work sheet help develop the pupils early mathematical concepts. Visual discrimination is developed using illustrations that are appropriate for pupils of any age.

Pre Number
Matching

Matching

The worksheets in this book are aimed at pupils working below level 1 of the National Curriculum. Pages of simple one to one matching of objects animals and shapes, find the odd one out, copying sequences and patterns and counting to 5. Clear simple layout with uncluttered pages that are non-threatening and encourage pupils to develop their skills.

Problems to 20

Once a pupil has learnt to add and subtract numbers to 20 they need to learn to apply this skill to real life situations and problems. An awareness how maths fits into their everyday life can help stimulate pupils maths development. Identifying the problem and the processes required are vital.

Problems to 20

Numbers to 100

Numbers to 100

This book looks at the order, sequences, size and patterns of numbers up to 100. There are exercises that involve place value and rounding up and down. By using a variety of strategies including 100 number square it aims to increase the pupils familiarity and awareness of numbers to 100.

Size

This book looks at the comparative language related to measurement. Big, bigger, biggest, full and empty etc. Pupils are required to compare, identify, draw and sequence objects and people according to their size.

Symmetry

Symmetry

This book looks at reflective and rotational symmetry. Simple, fun exercises help make the complex ideas accessible to pupils. The book contains examples of photographs, ethnic art, nature and many other sources to show pupils the wide ranging application of symmetry.

Data Handling

Collecting, collating reading and using data are skills pupils learn as part of the maths curriculum. Even if they do not do this in the future a knowledge of how data is used and collected will help them understand all the facts and figures we are given in daily life. This book starts at one to one mapping and comparing size and moves on to basic statistic. It also helps pupils consider data sources.

Dominoes

Dominoes

Dominoes are useful tools for matching, counting and ordering. They can give concrete experience of simple problem solving, addition and subtraction, more or less and odd and even. This book utilises an easily available piece of equipment. When obtaining dominoes the black and white sets appear less childish to pupils than coloured dominoes.

Length

The vocabulary of length and measurement, comparison of length, measurement in cubes and centimetres, an introduction to perimeter and area are all covered in a simple way in this book on length.

Nets

Nets

Worksheets develop pupils awareness of 2D and 3D shapes and their names and properties. Developing a knowledge of tessellation and nets helps pupils become aware of the relationship between shapes and solids.

Dot to Dot

This is not the standard dot to dot. It covers counting in a variety of ways including single units, in 3′s 5′s and10′s as well as fractions, days of the week, months of the year and the alphabet. The level of difficulty varies, starting with simple 1 to 5 progressing to 1 to 100 or fractions. With over 60 dot to dot pictures these fun exercises reinforce and extend pupil’s knowledge. Can also be used as homework sheets.

Dot to Dot Again

The original Dot to Dot book was very successful and we had many requests for more pages. The pages are fun and full of surprises. Designed to re-enforce pupils knowledge and sequencing ability these pages are excellent for homework sheets. The sheets can be used in a differentiated programme as the level of difficulty varies from page to page.
